Building renovations in Exeter
Here at Morten Construction Solutions, we are passionate about what we do. We care about the projects we work on. The aim is to provide a service that will suit your needs.
Your project is our business
Every successful project demands compromise by all of those involved, the Client, the Designer and the Contractor. At an early stage the way we work will hopefully guide you to discover what your “must haves” are and where is there a bit more flexibility.
Meet Ron
Ron deals with the technical side of the business. He has worked on all sides of the construction industry for over 20 years (sub-contractor, consultant, main contractor). It all started setting out houses in the summer holidays as a teenager. It was this early experience that meant he caught the bug. On returning the following summer the first houses and estate road were all built and occupied.
Ron studied for and was awarded a Master of Engineering Honours degree from the University of Bristol before going back out to site as an assistant engineer for a concrete frame sub-contractor. He felt that he needed to work out how things were put together in the real world – a grounding which has served him very well. This philosophy continued when he moved into consultancy. Joining the practice as a CAD technician meant he got a great grounding in the process of structural design.
Both aspects were put to practical use as a main contractor for a major UK firm where Ron worked on projects ranging in size, value and complexity. From simple extensions to schools and youth clubs up to £77 million in multi-year/multi-phase student accommodation and pharmaceutical manufacturing units.
Ron is a graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers – approaching Chartered status via the career appraisal route - & an Incorporated member of the Chartered Institute of Building – approaching Chartered Builder status. He has completed NVQ level 4 in Construction Site Management, First Aid at Work, SMSTS and management (black) CSCS card. The aim is to be MCIOB & CEng MICE within 2015.
